Northern Adelaide residents are invited to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty in a community effort to help beautify Mawson Lakes on Clean Up Australia Day next weekend (Sunday 1 March).
The project is being organised by Mawson Lakes Environment Watch - a residents group dedicated to achieving positive environmental outcomes in the suburb.
Mawson Lakes Project Director Vince Rigter said the event was a wonderful opportunity for Mawson Lakes residents and others from the local area to get together to help maintain the community’s high environmental standards.
“Clean up Australia Day will be a great chance for residents to meet neighbours and help make a cleaner, greener community for everyone to enjoy,” he said.
“The community’s Clean Up Australia Day will target all litter ‘hot spots’ which tend to include car parks, picnic areas, around waterways and some commercial areas.”
Participants should wear sensible protection for the outdoors, including good footwear, long trousers, gloves, hat and sunscreen.
