Exploring the picturesque streets of her community with the wind in her hair, Penny Burt from Mawson Lakes is now the proud new owner of a brand new BRAND red and silver scooter.
Penny won the scooter after entering a competition designed to encourage residents to shop locally and support local business.
As part of the Mawson Lakes Winter Festival, shoppers needed to collect four shopping dockets from local businesses and submit an entry form to go into the draw.
Penny said she had never won a competition before and was absolutely delighted when she found out she was the winner of a brand new scooter.
"We have a beautiful community at Mawson Lakes, so there couldn't be a better place to own a scooter," she said.
Mawson Lakes Project Director Vince Rigter said the competition was designed to reward residents for shopping locally.
“From bakers to florists and hairdressers to brokers, we have over 100 quality local businesses operating in Mawson Lakes,” he said.
The scooter competition was designed to encourage northern Adelaide residents to sample the great products and services our local community offers.
“With the gorgeous spring weather fast approaching, I am sure we will see Penny zipping around the community on her shiny, new scooter!”
Mawson Lakes is being developed by Delfin Lend Lease and Land Management Corporation, and will eventually house approximately 10,000 people in 4,000 homes with 7,500 workers and 7,000 students.
