Mawson Lakes will stage an After Race party featuring free family events, activities and entertainment on Wednesday, 18 January 2006 to co-incide with the start of the Jacob’s Creek Tour Down Under, South Australia’s world-famous road cycling race.
The first leg for the race will see cyclists start from Mawson Lakes Promenade before riding 148 kilometres through Salisbury to Angaston. To mark the occasion, Mawson Lakes is planning activities for the whole family starting from 8am and running through until 10pm.
The entertainment includes roving performers, amateur cycling races, organised sports, an outside broadcast by Mix 102.3, a dedicated Kid’s Zone, stunt bike hub, sports celebrity paddle boat race and music by jazz bands, local DJs, Lucifer’s Lounge and Lowrider. Guy Sebastian will be performing live on stage on the main lake during the After Race Party.
The Mawson Lakes Race Start and After Race Party, organised by Mawson Lakes, in conjunction with the City of Salisbury, is expected to attract in excess of 20,000 people throughout the day.
